I've been working on my drawing skills by making graphic novel portraits of my friends. I use photos of them and create a sketch of that photo, then ink it with copic markers. I love these markers, best art market I have ever used and the most expensive.
Then after inking I scan the image in and do touch ups in Photoshop, clean up my lines, fix mistakes or add to the drawing. Then it's over to Illustrator for creating the vector graphic. Now that I'm done that it's over to photoshop for colouring and effects. Each portrait can take from 3-4 hours depending on how much time I put into the details or if I have a hard time with the sketch.
